Organizing Your Craft and Sewing Supplies

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

By Rachel Paxton If you’re a weekend crafter like me, you probably have a lot of crafting odds and ends laying around that get all jumbled together depending on what project you’re working on at the moment. Over the years, I have found several ways to organize my craft and sewing supplies in a way that I can actually find them again when I need them. As I went through the process of organizing them, I was able to identify items I no longer needed and separate the remaining items into logical groups. As a result, I now have all my supplies limited to one corner of a room and well organized. Now I can find things when I need them. When I first started sorting through all my supplies everything was thrown together in a lot of cardboard boxes up in a hard-to-reach closet. The first thing I did was dump each box into a big pile and start sorting. My piles were: lace, trim, buttons, quilting supplies, cross stitch supplies, ribbon roses, fabric scraps, craft books, and misc. I first discarded the odds and ends I knew I’d never use again. I then bought two very large Rubbermaid containers (great for stacking) to store my supplies in. You may need more depending on how many supplies you have accumulated. I also bought some gallon-sized Ziploc bags. I sorted through all the lace and trim and put lace in one Ziploc bag and trim in another. The ribbon roses went in another. I put all the buttons in a plastic container with different compartments–sorted by color. All these items, plus other misc. like styrofoam balls, contact paper, plastic canvas, went into one Rubbermaid container. All my quilting and cross stitch supplies (mostly fabric scraps and cross stitch fabric) went into the second container. All my unfinished projects went into a cardboard box, and all my yarn for plastic canvas projects went into another. The containers and boxes stack on top of each other and fit nicely underneath a small square “craft table” I have set up in the corner of my home office. It’s all out of the way and everything is easily identified. On top of the table I keep little projects I’m working on, like cross stitch, or photo albums for working on scrapbooks. My embroidery thread is organized by DMC number in plastic containers made for storing embroidery thread. These containers are also stacked on the table. My sewing machine thread is organized on a small wooden board with small spindles you can buy that is designed to hold spools of thread. My sewing machine sits on the floor next to the craft table while not in use. Next to my craft table is a stand-alone cupboard that is sold as a pantry cupboard that you can probably find at Walmart for about $100. In the cupboard I store a lot of multipurpose items like my glue guns, all kinds of glue, paper, scissors, and all of my scrapbooking supplies. This cupboard works great for items other family members also use a lot, like tape and scissors. My paper cutter and long stapler are stored on top of the cabinet. I also have several bookcases in my office, and I use a couple of shelves on one of them for organizing my craft and sewing books. The books are organized by craft type. All of my small sewing supplies I keep in a couple of small sewing baskets that I can move with me from room to room. In these I keep sewing needles, embroidery scissors, measuring tape, pins, seam ripper, etc. Hopefully these ideas will help you get in the mood to start organizing your own craft and sewing supplies. It’s so much more enjoyable to work on projects when you know what you have and where everything is. Rachel Paxton is a freelance writer and mom of four. Effects of Tanning Beds - Is it a Boon or a Bane?

Friday, March 28th, 2008

By Yaksha Patel Tanning beds - a boon or a bane? That is the million dollar question that’s uppermost on all tanning-interested people. The effect of tanning beds is not a subject that can be put to rest quickly as the pros and cons maintain almost a supernatural balance with each other. In the industry of tanning beds, tanning bed lotions, tanning bed pillows and other tanning bed accessories, the effects of use are either little understood or worse, suffer from total ignorance. Here, we try to articulate some basic facts about tanning. Tanning is a body reaction to ultraviolet radiation, typically of two types UVA and UVB. Both these types of radiation have been associated with side effects of tanning beds where the incidence of over exposure has occurred. The effect of tanning beds that worked on UVB radiation have been well documented, with skin burning being observed frequently. This phenomenon caused manufacturers to shift to UVA-type operation where the effect of tanning beds based on this technology was perceived to be low. However, over-exposure to UVA radiation has been suspected to initiate immune system destabilization. Popular knowledge tells us that over-exposure to the sun’s radiation leads to skin cancer. So sun screens are a must for protection, even in artificial tanning to negate any adverse effect of the tanning bed. In a way, answering the question “Are tanning beds good for us” is analogous to answering the question “Are French fries good for us”. Puzzled? When you have French fries in the right amount, it’s a great in-between mealtime snack, but when you get consistent overdoses of it, you can be assured of the road to obesity. And so is the effect of tanning beds too! Take all steps to ensure that you are safe on the tanning bed. Do your research, ferret the internet and speak to your doctor if it means so much to reassure yourself. Treat the tanning bed with respect and you will be rewarded with what can only be called ethereal beauty. Have a safe and enjoyable tanning time!! Three Ways to Put Fresh Spins on Old Marketing Concepts

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

By Michele Pariza Wacek Are you struggling to find a new twist for old advertising or marketing campaigns? If you’re a small business owner or a copywriter/coach/other creative professional, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Having to come up with new ideas for a long-term client (or even your own business) can be overwhelming. As much as you love those long-term clients or established products, because of their longevity, it gets harder and harder to come up with the next brilliant product. But never fear. Here are three ways to get those creative juices (and new ideas) flowing. 1. Study other ads. Flip through a magazine or turn on the television, except this time focus on the ads and not the content (I know, I know, this is counter to what you usually do). Which ads do you like? Why do you like them? Is there something that those ads are doing you can modify for your campaigns? The key word is modify, not copy. I don’t want anyone committing copyright infringement. What I’m talking about is using an existing ad to jump-start your own ideas. Maybe you really like the use of an evocative photo with a single caption. Or the use of repetition in Mastercard’s “Priceless” campaign. Or the idea of turning the “money can’t buy everything” on its head (which is essence of that campaign). Can you use that concept in your campaign? Another resource for great ads is Communication Arts Magazine. Each issue showcases some of the most creative and beautiful ads found anywhere. 2. Check out what a completely different industry is doing. For instance, let’s say you sell software products to computer professionals. Techy market, right? So, pick up a yoga magazine. See how that industry communicates with its audience. Now try selling your product using the same language and concepts. Take it a step further and brainstorm ways your software product is similar to doing yoga. This is a very powerful way to jolt your own thinking and start your muse down a completely different path you might never have discovered before. 3. Force a connection. With this idea, force a connection with a random object rather than an entire industry. You ask yourself, how is your software program similar to a stuffed dog? Write down everything you can think of, no matter how silly or foolish. Sometimes the foolish ideas are the ones that lead to the great ones. A final note: If at all possible, don’t rush this process. Give your muse some time to ponder and play with these techniques. I know it often seems like ideas pop into your head out of thin air, but usually that’s because of the hard work you’ve put into it. You’ve given your muse the necessary tools and “incubation time” to make ideas happen. Michele Pariza Wacek owns Creative Concepts and Copywriting, a writing, marketing and creativity agency. Is “Comfort Food” Another French Parodox?

Monday, March 24th, 2008

By Ken Baker You have the sniffles and are suffering from a nasty cold; you had a really tough day at the office and are totally stressed; you have just experienced a romantic breakup and are suffering the pain of a broken heart. For many of us, the only source of comfort may be food. Comfort food is the food we turn to for temporary relief from stress, illness and a need to feel warm and secure. The thought of it gives us a feeling of comfort and well being. Comfort food is food that makes you feel good. It is likely that as small children we latched on to a specific food or home cooking in a way similar to reaching for and holding on to a security blanket. Comfort food is simply prepared and is most often served warm with a gravy thick texture. It is usually food with high carbohydrate content such as rice, beans or pasta. In Asian countries where rice is a mainstay food source, the comfort food is called juk. It is a mixture of rice and water cooked for many hours until it has a mush-like texture like a porridge. Juk is usually eaten with vegetables, pork, fish, shrimp or turkey mixed into it like a rice stew. In the U.S. every region has favorite foods but the universal comfort food in the U.S. is macaroni and cheese. We know that the French are meticulous about the preparation and presentation of food. Therefore, it is no surprise that they would deny parenting any French dish that resembles a simple stew made of leftovers. Pierre Smets, chef/owner of Christophe Restaurant in Sausalito, CA, denies the existence of comfort food in France. He explains that in France, there is regional food or traditional food but not comfort food like macaroni and cheese. In about 1400, English troops were about to overrun the small army defending a town in southern France. It was a cold and wet night and a major final battle was expected the next day. The citizens of the town banned together in one last effort to defeat the English. The local residents pooled all of their remaining food supplies of beans, ham, duck, lamb, onions, and sausage tomatoes. They combined all of these foods into large cooking pots and created a feast for their outnumbered soldiers. The casserole was both nourishing and inspirational. The troops were well fed and ready for the battle which ensued the next day. They defeated the British and drove them from the town of Carcasson, home of the cassoulet. Ironically, Pierre Smets was born in Carcasson. And, during the rainy months in Sausalito, CA, Smets prepares a delicious cassoulet using a secret recipe given to him by his grandmaman. Of course, this is not a simple dish. The beans must soak for several days, the lamb and duck and sausages are the best quality. Pierre may call it traditional, but to me, if it looks like it, and tastes like it, and makes you feel good, it is comfort food. How to Solve All Your Health Problems

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Charles_Sabillon] Charles Sabillon For centuries people have fantasized about uncovering the fountain of immortality or the fountain of youth or they have imagined finding a hidden world where nobody ever falls sick. Such thoughts have found their utmost expression in the world of literature and are seen by everybody as utopian. The truth is that a world in which diseases no longer exist is easily within reach. During 99% of the 100,000 years of human history, life expectancy was extremely low, being of less than twenty years. For millennia it seemed as if it was impossible for society to live without the scourge of epidemics. Although it seemed as unachievable, the fact is that today, such horrors are a thing of the past and nobody, with the exception of Sub-Saharan Africa, still has to confront terrible epidemics. Today, developed countries have managed to more than quadruple average life expectancy, making it to eighty and even least developed nations, such as those of South Asia, have made it to sixty. It is beyond a doubt that all that has been the result of science and technology. However, what is most impressive is the fact that practically all of those progresses were achieved in the last two centuries. Just in the twentieth century there were more discoveries than in all of the preceding history of humanity. What those historical facts reveal is that the rate of technological development is not fixed. Over the last five hundred years, it has been persistently accelerating and the increments have been of an exponential nature. Something else that is also revealed by history is that science is omnipotent. Science can do anything. There is no dream that is too fantastic for science. It can transform anything into reality. From being one of the weakest creatures when our specie was born, we can now easily overpower the largest beasts on this planet. Most impressive still is that we can even defeat bacteria and viruses, which are the most formidable opponents in the animal kingdom. From being able to just travel slowly by land, we can now run faster than any quadruped, navigate in water better than any fish, and fly faster than any bird. Although the rate of technological development has been exponentially accelerating in the last centuries, it has not gone fast enough. Today, millions of people, even in the most developed countries, continue to die at a young age because of numerous diseases that cannot be cured. People in rich countries have the money to finance a treatment, but the problem is that the there is no treatment for it has not been invented. We need to accelerate the pace of discoveries, in particular in the medical field, because the people afflicted by incurable diseases cannot wait a hundred years. Since history shows that every problem and every disease can be overcome with science, it is clear that there is a technology capable of eradicating cancer, heart disease, diabetes, stroke, mental illnesses, Parkinsons, Alzheimers, and many others. That technology in a way already exists, but it is located somewhere in the future. It will eventually appear, but it could take many decades or even centuries and none of those living today has the luxury of waiting that long. The history of science shows that there are two types of variables that affect the rate of discovery. The first is the blocking type, which hinders the development of inventions. There are several factors that hinder its advancement, but by far the worst is religion. The different religions of the world have at all moments in time opposed the progress of science. That is inevitable considering that they are the quintessence of irrationality and science is the quintessence of rationality. The second variable is the stimulating type, which promotes the development of inventions. There are several aspects affecting this type of variable. The first and most important is a simple formula: The larger the flow of capital into science, the more numerous the discoveries. That is the unequivocal message from history. If worldwide, the amount of capital going into research and development were to double, the rate of discovery would accelerate by 100%. If it were to treble, discoveries that would have appeared in three decades would appear in just ten years. Channeling three times more money into research and development would be extremely easy because at present not even 1% of the world economy flows into laboratories. Therefore, the best way in which an individual can harness the limited resources it possesses in a way that will most benefit him or her, is to donate money to particular scientific foundations. If in the family of a person there is a history of breast cancer, then that woman should give as much of her money to cancer research institutions. If there is a history of heart disease, then that man should donate a large share of his income to the scientific organizations trying to uncover the causality of that malady. People should not wait until an oncologist or a cardiologist gives them the bad news. Such a policy should start as soon as a person gets his or her first paycheck in life. That is actually a better health insurance policy than the traditional one because it improves the chances of finding a real solution to the core problem. Many people tend to become active in some particular field of medicine at some moment in their life, but it usually happens only after having been diagnosed with an incurable disease or when a family member has been struck by malady. Unfortunately, by then it is usually too late. Research and development is the most expensive thing in this world and it requires humongous amounts of money to deliver results. It also needs time, in particular when only puny amounts of money are being allocated to it. Human beings have the nasty habit of wasting their money in useless causes and the most useless of all is religion. However, there are numerous others and entertainment is one of them. People must never forget that when they are sick or dead, entertainment of any kind is no longer possible. We must learn to set our priorities and the priority is staying alive and living without pain. Everything else is secondary. We must also learn to put our trust in science and only on that. You cannot serve two gods and the god of science demands your full attention, your full devotion, and most of your resources. Charles Sabillon did High School in Texas and has undergraduate degrees in Philosophy, Economics and Law as well as a masters and a doctorate in International Relations. Why Choose A Chinese Medicine Candida Remedy?

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

By Jane Symms Often, a Chinese medicine candida diagnosis will only come after the practitioner has considered all your symptoms. In Chinese medicine the bodys whole wellbeing is considered in the diagnosis, with an attempt to bring the body back into balance. Normally the strains of Candida (yeast) found in the body inhabit a person’s digestive tract, from mouth to rectum, as well as genitourinary tract. Unfortunately when this particular form of fungus is allowed to grow it can cause problems for the sufferer. Although many people will turn to traditional Western medicine in order to treat the fungal overgrowth using antibiotics can unfortunately in some cases escalate the problem and lead to reoccurring bouts. That is why more people are turning to Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments in order to help them eliminate Candida overgrowth. Certainly, there are number herbs and lifestyle changes that would be recommended by a Chinese medicine practitioner which have an overall anti-biotic property, which make them an effective alternative, or complementary medicine, which can help bring the body back into balance. The herbs and changes suggested in traditional Chinese Medicine usually bring balance by reducing the number of bad bacterium, which can encourage the growth of Candida, but still allows the good bacteria in our bodies to remain. The good bacterium found in the body is essential and among other things it helps suppress yeast infections like Candida. Usually when you are undergoing treatment by a Chinese Medicine practitioner for Candida they will want to ensure that your body is in balance as they feel an imbalance in your Yin and Yang is often the cause for the many illnesses that people suffer. One particular way for treating Candida using Chinese Medicine is to prescribe a cleansing therapy, which helps to clear the body of any waste, phlegm and toxins that the practitioner may have noticed. These are seen as a one of the causes of the Candidiasis infestation. The herbs used in this form of treatment are not there to cleanse the large intestine but rather to help promote the removal of phlegm and toxins. In Chinese Medicine it is important that the phlegm, waste and toxins be removed from the body as they help promote the growth of yeast in the body. The main types of herbs which are used to help the body of phlegm, waste and toxins include Long Dao Cao (Gentiana), Chuan Lian Zi (Melia), Huo Xiang (Agastachis), Bai Dou Kou (Cardamon), Mu Xiang (Saussarea), Huang Qin (Skullcup), Hung Lian (Coptis) and Huang Bai (Phellodendra). Once the cleansing stage has been completed, the patient will be moved onto the next stage with is Tonifying. This stage helps to repair the damage caused by conditions such as Candida and restore your body’s balance. It is also during this stage of the treatment that the practitioner will seek to prevent reoccurrence in the future. Often, the treatment will include Huang Qi (Astragalus), Dang Shen (Codonopsis), Bai Zhu (Atractylodes) and Shan Yao (Dioscorea). However, there will also be an instruction to reduce the potential of yeast overgrowth through changes in diet by reducing the foods that incorporate yeast growth. Why You Must Have Fresh Wedding Flowers on Your Wedding Day

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

By Mayoor Patel Other than the groom and the dress, the most important element to the bride is the wedding flowers! No other decoration says ‘wedding’ more than the flowers! They can be just in the wedding party’s bouquets and buttoniers, and on the alter, or so much more. Wedding flowers can actually be the theme in every decoration, the church, the path out of the church, the reception hall, and on every table in the dining room. If the bride is very picky about having only her favorite flower, however, this proposition sounds pretty expensive! If money is no object, the elegance of having all roses or all gardenias for the wedding flowers that will be everywhere, would be superior! However, if money is an issue, the favorite flowers could be reserved for the bridal party alone, and then a mixture of other, less expensive flowers could be used for the remainder of the wedding flower arrangements and decorations. Actually, the wedding flower arrangements on the reception dinner tables should be small, since you need the room for dishes, glasses, etc. Simple little bouquets in tiny vases would suffice. Maybe just the flower in the middle of the bouquet could be the favorite, so as to tie the theme together with the bridal party’s wedding flowers. These dinner table centerpiece bouquets, can be collected by guests when the party is over, and taken home and dried. This way, not only the bridesmaid’s and the lucky lady who caught the wedding flower bouquet will go home with flowers to treasure. Many more guests will have flowers to remember the beautiful day they have shared. Another great wedding flower idea is to have one flower by each plate on the dining table. In a very elegant catered affair, with multiple courses, you could even have a different flower for each course with each plate. If one was absolutely filthy rich, there could even be a big bowl full of wedding flowers (for instance gardenias or roses) at the back of the church, or reception hall to be handed out by the flower girl to each female guest as they leave! Nothing says wedding like flowers! Unfortunately, for some reason, more people seem to be allergic to the environment these days and flowers have always been one of the primary irritants. For this reason, and also for the reason of keeping the wedding flowers forever, some people prefer to use silk flowers for their weddings. However, without the scent of the live wedding flowers, something will be lacking in the total wedding experience. Silk flowers may be just as pretty and colorful and may, in fact last forever but compared to live flowers, are not at all sensual. It is up to the individual which way they want to present their stunningly beautiful moment in time. Mayoor Patel is the writer for the website http://www.weddings.wares-are.us/. The Key To Understanding Broad Market Behavior

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

By Andrew Witherspoon Internet Marketers who are looking to capitalize on a niche market will generally focus on one sub category of that particular market and run with it. While niche marketing is good, this does not mean that you shouldnt pay attention to the broad market as a whole. Understanding what drives the market and what direction the trends are leading to will make it that more possible for you to succeed. What Is The Big Picture? Understanding the current status of your chosen markets means you have to first identify the current economic variables. There can be many factors that you should look for but I suggest focusing on: How is business in your broad market? What does the Federal Reserve Board think? Is there a somewhat predictable cycle determining production and consumer spending? What sectors are doing well? What sectors are lagging? You know that you want to be a niche marketer, everything on the Internet suggests that this is the best route to take. But how do you decide what niche to pick? One thing that I did was research on what consumers were most interested in concerning my broad niche of Internet Marketing. A good resource that I found for this was www.score.org. Trolling forums and focus groups in your market area is also an invaluable tool, I especially like www.seomoz.org. Another thing you can do if you are lucky enough to have an opt-in list is to send out emails to your list and ask them what they wanted to learn more about. If you do not already have a list your main goal would be to build a general prospects list, perhaps several and ask them questions. Run more than one list at a time and compare the results. What do they have in common? This is where you should live. Once you get that data: Size Up The Niche Market Every day you before you do anything in regard to your business you should take a look at what the market is doing. Find out where the trends are pointing in the broad market as well as your niche of that market. If you already have a list that we spoke about above; ask them what they want and need, and begin to fill those needs. Go With What Is Working Once you find out the most prevalent trends, go with the flow. It is easier to be a success if you dont have to reinvent the wheel. Unless you have a product or service that is genuinely unique do what others are doing that works and then work on doing it better. You can work out your uniqueness once the revenue is coming in. How to know what is working? Check out http://www.expansionplus.com/news/index.php for internet marketing news. Whatever the case, the main thing you want to remember is to refocus your efforts often if not on a daily basis. You must keep up to date and educated about your chosen market in order to just survive. It take much effort and serious work to become a winner. Marketing is Not Like Exercise; Get Results Now, Not Next Year

Friday, March 14th, 2008

By Lance Winslow Some marketing consultants who write books, make tapes, do seminars, get interviewed on the radio and tell other companies how to do it better, tell us that marketing is like exercise and you need to have a long-term plan and be patient. Well interesting advice indeed, but businesses do not have all day and Corporations want results now for their shareholders and bottom line. They do not have all year, a quarter or even a month or two to increase profits. They want it now, just like a small businessperson wants results for cash flow, salary and to pay for employees, inventory and rent for Gods Sake. Many marketing self-proclaimed gurus think you need to be patient; Let time work or Nothing Good Happens Overnight! I say to these marketing professionals, why not take off your silly Mickey Mouse tie, spray paint your baldhead blue and become a Smurf for while? The marketing Papa Smurf is Hear do Not Fear! campaign? Yah right, listen folks if you have a marketing plan you should be getting instant results and you should attack it like the United States Military. Do not sit around and wait for results, go out and get them now. Right now, not next year. Patience maybe a virtue, but we were told the Catholic Priests were virtuous too and we come to find out they were bending over little kids left and right? Sorry, when it comes to virtue you can take that Patience in Marketing Advice and stick it where the Sun wont shine. Here is the deal, your marketing should be getting the message out and the methods, media and mediums you use should be pulling for you every G-darn Day, day in and day out and if not modify your marketing plan. You must win the game and that means increases in sales and new business and more purchases from previous and regular customers. Any plan, which takes a wait and see approach is foolish, I will have none of that in my company and neither should you. Lets get the Political Correctness and wimps the hell out marketing along with the Catholic Church Priests who molest kids out of the perish. The Fear Of Relationships

Monday, March 10th, 2008

By G. Michael How many times have we heard women say, Lord, Ill be so happy when you bless me with Mr. Right? Better yet, have you ever heard a man say, These women are a trip and I dont got time for them! If youre an individual thats in a relationship or have friends who tell you about their experiences in other relationships, then the message I am conveying through these quotes sound distinctly familiar. What many people fail to realize is the sacrifice associated with being in a relationship or how the relationship should be structured. I often tell women that if they are seeking a man then they need to sit their behind down and worry about getting saved! According to the Bible, a woman needs to be chosen by the man and not go and chose what she thinks she wants. Why you ask? Let us fetch the answer in that good ol book in the bible called Genesis. Most of us are familiar with Adam and Eve, so Im going to go straight to my point. After the fall of man, God says to Eve, and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. And shortly after this God speaks to Adam and says, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life. (Genesis 3:16-17) Now Im going to step back and give some insight on what happened at this point from the perspective of a man. Adam probably thought to himself, Why did I listen to this B****? Eve probably said something like, I know Adam is going to pissed! Nevertheless, their reaction to being punished seems to be left out. I assume its for a good reason. Gods punishment was in essence, the act of him assigning roles for both male and female. These roles are the foundation for all relationships. Its quite apparent that men tend to not want to listen to their other half and women often find it meaningless to try to speak to their man. This all comes from the great separation. Again, after the fall of man, men have found it to be quite difficult to hearken unto a woman again because of the fear of what may happen if they make the same mistake twice. Mean while, the woman goes on to live in fear that her man, the one she desires, may suddenly not desire her anymore. Even though both the man and woman are together, the thing that unites them is their fears. This fear that I describe needs to be eradicated from both male and female and the way this can be done is by upholding biblical standards. Instead of upholding these standards, people are trying to medicate the problem rather than rid themselves of it. They are letting the devil deceive them; causing them to error in their ways. Women are fighting hard for legal roles that males should fill and men are now relinquishing their roles to the women. This transition has begun to take its toll on the personal side of life and now the women are trying to be the man in the relationship and the man is becoming the one that is being ruled over. This same fear has caused some people to become delusional and say, There is nothing wrong with me and my husband/wife switching leadership roles? To which I respond by saying SURE (wink-wink). Let me be the first to expose this erroneous form of living for what it is and let you judge it for yourself. You see the problem that lies within this ideology is that a man will be a man and a woman will be a woman. There is a limit that exists between a man and woman, as a result of this, there will always be a conflict of interest in which someone has to be the victor. Yeah, a woman can try her best to rule over her man, but if this is the case the woman tends to have little or no respect for her man. And sadly to say, I agree with her having no respect for him. After all its difficult for a woman to look up to her man for direction and guidance, when he himself is in no position to lead and guide. His lack of performance in his role as a man is a problem and he has unwisely subjected himself to her authority, when it should be the other way around. Its important to know that just because a man rules over a woman, it doesnt necessarily have to be interpreted as being a bad thing. On the flip side, you have men who are truly seeking to be the leaders in the relationship and are continuously at battle with their leadership roll because the woman they are with is trying to unwisely fill the role of a man. I like to refer to these types of women as contentious and if the man is the type that allows a woman to rule over him, I him as weak-minded or a coward. The fear of being in a relationship is ever so present in this situation and it lies in the heart of the contentious woman. For some reason or another, she is afraid to let herself be lead and directed by the man. In these types of situations, I strongly recommend more time spent on defining the proper roles rather than trying to overlook the issue and assume that it will eventually work itself out. Failure to do will result in degradation and may compromise the valuable friendship entrapped in the relationship. The Bible tells it clearly, Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife. (Proverbs 25:24) Nevertheless, these paradigm shifts often results in the man or woman, being subjected to each others disrespect and this is how the fear of being in a relationship develops. I hope you come away with something after reading this article. I hope you take a real good look at yourself and ask yourself; what can I bring to a relationship? If the answer is nothing, then you need to sit your stingy self down because you only want to be in a relationship because of your fears. These fears could be, living on you own, lack of company, income based, religious beliefs, your mamma or whatever. The whole point is that when you do establish a fear based relationship, then chances are youll be miserable and it wont be enjoyable. This is The General Speaking That Fire! Regards.
